British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
