Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to share openly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order issued a restriction on the cases to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

After the deaths, public personalities offered different comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative statements that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the critics recently. Talking on his show, Rogan labeled the statements as "disappointing" and remarked they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an associate could have stepped in when the impulse to comment on the tragedy was made.
